- new icons dont have a way to show "NEW POSTS HERE!"

- alot of the links are actually subforums (and i bet most of them will never get posts apart from "LOL FIRST POST!"-type posts)

and propably something else too i cant remember right now (5:30 am)

heres a nice example of a well thought out and configured forum: http://forums.freddyshouse.com/index.php?

correct. at the moment (which the current version of the modification) this is not possible.

but you may want to have a look @ the navbar. where you will find a nice link called New Posts.
which will display you ALL new posts since your last visit. this is much more useful that these "blinking" icons.
no need to browse the forum, simply scroll through the list of the New Posts ;)

maybe, but i would not bet ;-)

apart from "LOL FIRST POST!"-type posts)
you do not want to know what will happen to such posters :D

just had a look, but got blind at the moment i opened the site, because of that funky skin ;)

But back on topic. the link you provided up there leads to a quite small forum (where many forums are empty ;) ). which also has sub/sub/sub forums.
    so where is the difference?

I don't see a problem with the new forums. But then, if i hadn't read the news post on the main site, i would never have known :) I just traul New Posts.

my main point with the other forum was that the subforum hierarchy is shown before you enter a subforum

    Code:
    Forum X
             Subforums Y, Z, A, B

im an user at that forum i used as an example dunno if it looks different to non registered users

This is how it looks here:

    You are talking about that
    Sub-Forums: list of all subforums
    below the forum title?

basically we have the same with the forum description. so you know whats inside.
adding this modification is possible, bot not a good idea imo.

too much info on one page is just confusing.

I think the new forum layout makes sense to us that use it all the time, but I think it is probably a bit daunting for new visitors because of the long list of topics right after you click "Community". It might help to have a higher level of topics for the new or unregistered users, like:

    General

    MediaPortal - Main Features

    Support

    Development

And as far as the icons thing is concerned, I always click on "new posts" on the menu bar at the top every time anyways so I don't mind the new icons at all.

And i thought you'd like that color forum, you would blend in nicely LOL
