The true gem of the GeForce 8200 isn't actually is 3D performance or DX10 support

That's the problem, MP is reliant on DX9 for its GUI (just substitute 9 for 10 in above, similar problem) using vmr9 or evr for rendering, where most other players use overlay, so its more like playing a game.

Anyway good luck with the tweaking.

Thanks - have not had any change so far...

dont suppose you know of a mini-atx board that has onboard graphics that will work fine with mediaportal?

Hmm - interesting new development..... if I try to use the PureVideo or Cyberlink codecs I get this shaking, but if I use the standard MPV codecs the picture is stable.... I had switched to the cyberlink/purevideo codecs expecting better performance

Is this again likely to be down the the graphics card, I guess the simple answer is use what works, but it just seems strange to me... aah well, I have a working setup - lets just enjoy it!

    Hi bob808,

Did you ever get this straight?
I am thinking of buying myself your mobo... Since I have problems
with https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/flickering-tv-guide-other-overlays-evr-enabled-34864/ with my ATI card.

I am wondering if your problems is XP related? Any chance you can test it with Vista?

I've seen most of the problems with newer chipsets such as 8xxx Nvidia and HDxxxx of ATI are only occuring in XP.

In fact I upgraded to Vista because of that and all my problems went away (such as stuttering HD etc...).
But sadly the above issue remains and according to some people of the above thread the flickering issue does not
    occur with Nvidia GPUs...

If you use MPV as a decoder you only decode in SW - not using your GPU. You must use Cyberlink or other commercial decoder to utilize the GPU. Also the deinterlacing is also done in SW instead of the GPU, which is preferrable.

    Hi bob808,

i have the same mainboard and had the same problem. Shaking with Cyberlink Codec but not with mpv (only on sd channels not on hdtv).
I got it working by changing the refresh rate of the display to 50hz in my case guess it depends on the fps the channels use (25 in Germany, PAL). Worked for me.
