Could I get a clarification on this issue? I am trying to do my first install of MP on a headless server in my equipment closet via remote desktop (no easy access to HTPC). However, after downloading DirectX and beginning the initial start-up of MP, I get the same problem Srakha (ie PC hangs at "Initializing DirectX..."). I am not trying to run a video or any media. I am simply trying to start the MP server. Can I not run MP as a server-only application and control it remotely via remote desktop? Sorry, but I am a newby at MP. Thx, MikeH Sorry guys. Rookie error. I was attempting to run MP, not MP TV server via RDP which caused the glitch. It appears that as MP client is starting a warning window opens beneath it (saying something about display resolution and such). However, the window needs to be clicked to move on. Since MP started in full screen, I never saw the window. I have now (correctly) downloaded and am installing TV Server. FYI, my initial confusion was the question asked by the install screen "Do you want to run TV from MP?". I said "no" thinking the question had something to do with the graphics card on the server. Little did I know that it would not download TV server if I answered NO. Perhaps a more explanatory phrasing of this question may prevent future rookies from making the same mistake.....:) Off and running!
