New Intel X25E SSD (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys,

I have just picked up an Intel x25E 32Gb SSD. I was just going to use this as a timeshift drive only. However are there any opinions on using this drive as the main OS drive as well? All recordings and media storage is done on other HDD's

I did a full install of Win7, StreamedMP and all up to date drivers.

WOW!! This is so quick now - it really has made a difference. The fanart comes up almost instantly and the whole experience of scrolling through menus is so much better.

I may get another for the Zotac client!

Hello mate,

They are a great drive. A complete overkill for a HTPC. Partly old school - but still the best old school drive you can get.

Well.... to be honest I was getting a fed up with using the local drive as timeshift. I then toyed with the idea of getting about 8Gb more RAM so I could do a RAMdrive, but the cost for this was just shy of £100, so I bid on an Intel SSD and got it for 80 quid. I was going to use this for timeshifting only. I then thought I would do a clean install with only MP on the HTPC and that is what I've done. The old HDD seems glacial by comparison.

Still not sorted the Zotac client though... I should get one thing completed before starting something else really

i picked up a onyx 32gb and its transformed the use of my acer revo r3610 as a mediaportal client, everything is so snappy and loads up without any hassle.

its the best upgrade i could've done for it tbh.
