do you have to produce a *.bat file for playing the media?
if you just compile a link or a playlist file, it would be easier to assign the stream to vlc or a different media player true the browser.

Same problem here, but becouse of the linux client -> cannot really use .bat file.
But assigning .m3u to vlc is working ok.

The problem is that playlist files shouldn't contain links to videos but i haven't tried so far.
Has anybody tried the the internal player, which is using the VLC player as a plugin in a webpage?

You just have to change the player type in the config

yeah I know that i can change the streaming URL but wen I use something like intra.mydomain.de then it works outside my home network but not inside and wen I do an 192.168. address then I can not use the URL outside my home network e.g. a my friends home. or in the office so it needs adjustment, it isn't so bad to have adjusting it, but it would be nice if it would be possible to make a slitely different approach.

and regarding VLC, the plugin isn't really working on any of my PCs,(not FX nor IE). i am trying to figure it out why!
You could always modify your hosts file on the machines inside your network so that 'intra.mydomain.de' points to the local IP address.

My router (D-Link DIR-655) is clever enough to still correctly port forward when I access the server via my external IP even though I'm inside the network, so I don't have this problem, my old router (Belkin) didn't do this.

Yes, I tried, and it is working well in firefox and in ubuntu linux.

The problem is that with this method I cannot change for example the audio stream, cannot set up deinterlace method, which with the external vlc player are possible.

If not the .m3u is the solution, there should be something else.
VLC itself can save it's playlist (either video and audio) to .m3u and .xspf file.

    Hi gemx,

    1. I've found out, that it's possible for the whole world to watch my tv, without any login.
If you know the channel number, you can type the correct URL to VLCFirefox.htm with the correct arguments and can watch TV. I have copied the streaming URL to the clipboard and logged out. After reopen Firefox and pasting the URL, the streaming server still worked.

Is it possible to protect the streaming server with password?

    2. The recordings will not start to stream, because the URL looks like this:
    "http://localhost/VLCFirefox.htm?url=idRecording=70,idProfile=0&media=<b>Ein%20Date%20zu%20Dritt</b><br/>Wiederholung%20von%2014:20%20Uhr.%20Jungarchitekt%20Oscar%20Novak%20und%20sein%20schwuler%20Partner%20kämpfen%20um%20einen%20lukrativen%20Auftrag%20von%20Tycoon%20Charles%20Newman.%20Newman%20hält%20Oscar%20für%20den%20schwulen%20Part%20des%20Duos%20und%20beauftragt%20ihn,%20ein%20wachendes%20Auge%20auf%20seine%20junge%20Geliebte%20zu%20werfen.%20Natürlich%20verknallt%20sich%20Oscar%20Hals%20über%20Kopf%20in%20sie%20und%20weiß%20nicht,%20ob%20er%20die%20Lüge%20seiner%20beruflichen%20Zukunft%20zuliebe%20aufrechterhalten%20oder%20seine%20wahren%20Gefühle%20offenbaren%20soll".
TVService is crashing with an unhandled exception, if I try to stream this URL.

If I edit the URL to "http://localhost/VLCFirefox.htm?url=idRecording=70,idProfile=0&media=Ein%20Date%20zu%20Dritt" then the streaming is working.

    Best regards

Those who wanna play around can try to replace the attached default.aspx.cs.

Instead of a batch file it creates an .m3u with only the url in it.

So if you start streaming you get a .m3u file which is then played by your associated player.

For me that worked quite good with VLC.

So no need to have the path to VLC hardcoded and it should also work on Linux :)

    Hey,

does this plugin work with the MP 1.1.0 Beta? I just get a blank page... Gentle.config uses MySQL, which is correct.

    Please help me...!

    Hello, it's me again ;)

The webinterface works correctly now. I had to change the port, cause Skype has been bound to the port before...

But another problem. In the LAN the streaming works like a charm. But over the internet (via VPN and without vpn), the streaming is very slow and stutters.

All tries of screwing down the bitrates and scals ended up with errors.

PLEASE: Can you create some low-low-low-internet-streaming-profiles... I have DSL 2000 (Deutsche Telekom).

    This would be very nice...

    So on!
