Some issues I've come across.. Not sure if they're bugs, fixable or missing features..

1. When rewinding or fast forwarding, I can't press play to get it playing again.. I need to ff/rewind in the opposite direction.

2. When video/TV is displayed in the corner of the main menu UI, what can I press to make it full-screen again? And is there a way to turn it off, so that when I go to the menu from a video, it stops the video instead of playing it in the corner. Alternatively, I've noticed you can play the video with the menu overlayed on top.. Is it possible to make this the default behaviour when switching to the menu?

3. I use an XMLTV source for my EPG but the channel names are different to the broadcasted ones.. Is there a way to map them in MediaPortal?

4. I use a remote control through a program called HIP. HIP takes my remote keypress and in turn can send a sequence of keyboard keypresses to the application. The default keyboard shortcuts in mediaportal aren't exactly ideal.. Is there a way to change them?

5. Does MediaPortal support any sort of cutlist or chapter list files? I run comskip on my recordings to detect commercials.. It outputs a list of cutpoints. I'd like to be able to skip through commercials with the help of a cut list file and without having to actually cut the commercials out of the video.

6. I've watched a few dvr-ms recordings (not from mediaportal) and for some reason it would randomly fast forward, rewind or pause at random points during playback! I have no idea why.. I don't think it has anything to do with my remote control, and that's the only input device I had plugged in at the time.

7. On my MediaPortal PC, I can playback H.264 video files in Media Player but they don't work in Media Portal. Why would this be? I encoded the files myself with x264 and AAC audio. I tried changing the video/audio codecs around but that didn't help.

I'm using MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 on Windows XP Pro. The only other relevant software I have on the PC is ffdshow-tryout and PowerDVD.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

3. AFAIK you can map them with WebEPG-conf

7. What version of ffdshow are you using? Normally it works if you use ffdshow as the codec, but you need a newer one than the one you get here.

    1. That should work. But I don't know about HIP.

    2. The "x" toggles Full-Screen. I do not use the background video option, so there might be something I don't know of.

    3. See before

    4. Use the Configuration program & change the keys just as you like. You can map almost anything in the Keys section.

    5. There is a new version in development (the SVN Versions), which contain a TV Streaming server model. The server has comskip integrated. I am not (yet) using it, so no feedback on it's workings, but seems to have come forward quite well.

    6. dvr-ms are basically mpg files with a wrapper around it. So if that would not play correctly, there approx. 1000 things that could be wrong. Try using MPs provided codecs and check your display drivers as well. Does the recording play in MediaPlayer?

    7. No HD freak, but there are quite some discussions on getting H.264 running. So try searaching the forum.

Thanks guys.. Below are the remaining unsolved issues

    1. When rewinding or fast forwarding, I can't press play to get it playing again.. I need to ff/rewind in the opposite direction.
    Still having this problem.

    5. Does MediaPortal support any sort of cutlist or chapter list files? I run comskip on my recordings to detect commercials.. It outputs a list of cutpoints. I'd like to be able to skip through commercials with the help of a cut list file and without having to actually cut the commercials out of the video.
Good to hear there'll be integrated comskip support.. but is there anything I can do till then? I'd like to stick to stable/RC versions.

    6. I've watched a few dvr-ms recordings (not from mediaportal) and for some reason it would randomly fast forward, rewind or pause at random points during playback! I have no idea why.. I don't think it has anything to do with my remote control, and that's the only input device I had plugged in at the time.
Seems to happen with all file types. Very puzzling. I might look into the possiblity of it being remote control-related.. though I'm not sure how.

    7. On my MediaPortal PC, I can playback H.264 video files in Media Player but they don't work in Media Portal. Why would this be? I encoded the files myself with x264 and AAC audio. I tried changing the video/audio codecs around but that didn't help.
The video is working now but the (AAC) audio still doesn't play. Works fine in Media Player.
