First, let me say that I am VERY new to Mediaportal. Im basically looking for a client side app that can consolidate all my media into one easy to use screen - I dont want to deal with MS's Media Center. So far I am really impressed with Media Portal has to offer.

I am just having a hard time with a few things (there will be other threads posted from me).

Thanks in advance, and I did honestly try to search for answers before I posted. :)

    Question #1.

I dont own any kind of hardware for Radio, but the documentation seems to allude that I can tune in to Internet radio stations? If this is true, I cant seem to find where to add new radio stations. When I run the Media Portal Configuration App, "Radio" is not listed in the tree on the left hand side. What am I doing wrong?

Only available from the TVSERVER that I know

Unless someone has written a plugin for MP client that can access web radio, so have a check through the plugin section of the download section.

Wow, that is fast turnaround, thank you SciDoctor! Forgive my completely clueless followup question, but does this mean that if I install TV-Server, and then "connect to it" (I think I saw something about that during configuration), I can tune in to internet radio stations?

I didnt install TV-server because I am trying to use Media Portal for a player, rather than doing anything with TV capture/streaming.

I will answer my own question in case others go down the same road as me.

You need to have TV-Server installed for My Radio to work - if you dont have the server installed, the my radio configuration item wont show up. This in turn means that you need to have either SQL Express (this is what I used - its free) or MySQL installed (also free).

When you install TV-Server, you need to know the sa password you typed when you installed SQL Express.

After you install TV-Server, you also need to run the TVServer config application in the Program files\Team Media Portal directory, otherwise you will still have no joy.

It was something of a confusing road, but worth it in the end. I now have Radio working-

    FYI,

    Joe
