I like the software but I'm having a few problems I'm sure can easily be solved by you experts. Running current version of Media Portal on an AMD 64 x2 4200+, 2 GB ram, XP Pro, connected to a 50" Samsung plasma by DVI cable.
1. I ripped a movie to .MP4 using Slysoft's CloneDVDMobile and it's default settings for generic MP4. Bascially I wanted to see how well the more compressed format looked to see if I could save some server space. But, it says the included codec can't play it. It will play in WMP as well as directly on my Samsung TV via USB. The only codecs I've added in the past was the free download from DivX. Do I have a setting wrong or do I need to download a codec package to play MP4?
2. For some reason, I'm not getting all the art work for my old collection of ripped movies. Maybe 40-50%. The files and individual folders they reside in are named according to the movie's title. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to download some add-in?
3. When you rotate a photo, is that just saved a metadata within Media Portal for viewing preference or does it actually save a modified .jpg file?
Thanks much. I look forward to this program making my family really get to enjoy all the the work I've doing.
