News plugin - viewing size (1 Viewer)

I´m greatly appreciating the RSS News pluging to stay updated on the news while I´m on the couch.

However, reading the entire story is practically impossible, since the viewing screen is so small. For some sites, that has links etc. before the main story begins, a regular story has been up to 250 pages. Takes a while to get to the news itself, and takes forever to read through it.

Is there some way to increase the size of this screen (preferably up to full screen)? If not, is there plans to implement this in future releases?

While I wait, is there any alternatives I can use?

Regards

I personally have hacked the fonts.xml file associated with a skin. IN there you'll find statements like

<font>
<name>font10</name>
<filename>Arial</filename>
<height>12</height>
<start>0</start>
<end>1536</end>
</font>

Here I changed the height to 12 from 10. If you do this make sure you make a backup of the file before editing and once you have completed your adjustments save the file to every skin directory that you use and also delete the fonts directory in each and every skin directory that you use. You may notice a few anomalies when you use the program but overall the 12 foot experience is better.

    Could you perform a screen capture and post it here? This would help in showing what you are saying here. It is the Full Screen that I am not understanding and I hope a screen shot would help at least me understand.

    he does not want to increase the fontsize but the size of the window which shows the feeditem's content - which is impossible from the xml's side.

    That is what I thought he meant but wanted to be sure.

    Of course! Sorry to be unclear, my english gets a bit rusty fom time to time ;)

    As you can see there is not room for much text in the box, and I would like this to be larger allowing more text to fit on each page. In the example there is 82 pages, from many other sites I get several times that number of pages...

    And no, reducing the font sixe is not a good option, because it would be difficult to read on the TV.
