Ive been reading a few post but still now 100% I love how this plugin works but I'm unable to use it till ver 0.8 is out :(

I have been sorting my movies into the following layout

Movie Root
-----[ Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End [2007]
----------[ Backdrop.jpg
----------[ Folder.jpg
----------[ Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End [2007].mp4
----------[ Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End [2007].nfo

In the nfo file i only have tt0449088

now this works nicely but I want to get my files ready as theres lot to be done 500+ movies,
I see the XBMC NFO formate is comming in 0.8

I'm cool if the info is all from online but i want to use my own names for the display, so if i started to do the following to the nfo files;

<movie>
<title>Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End</title>
<sorttitle>Pirates of the Caribbean 3</sorttitle>
<year>2007</year>
<id>tt0449088</id>
</movie>

will the 0.8 read this data and then getting the missing from IMDB or TheMovieDB.org and use the local Fanart and Cover?

This is how i see this working but i don't want to start the work on fixing all files just to find it wont work.

Also will it pull the video info from the file and save it to the db like; Runtime, Video Codec, Video Hight, Audio Codec, Audio Channels, Etc
and use that over what it finds online (Which really only apply to Run Time) but with the other info it can open it up to showing a 720p and 1080p Icon like My TVSeries does.

Will this update the missing fields in the nfo file?

Thats about all sorry if i'm all over the place :) and any help on this would be awesome
I know 0.8 will be ready when it's ready :D

:D

Hi bigmong,

the XBMC scraper has no part for your sorttitle node.

In your example file name it would look for a cover art with the following name:
Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End [2007].tbn

It would look for a backdrop with the following name:
Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End [2007]-fanart.jpg

Although I think the local provider may grab these through a different means. (I am not experienced with this.) 0.8 will indeed use the imdb_id to find missing information.

Yeah i know XBMC uses .tbn but i figger the local provider should get the Backdrop.jpg and Folder.jpg as it does that already,

and im guessing <title>Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End</title> is the display name and <sorttitle>Pirates of the Caribbean 3</sorttitle> will be how it sorts the list.

Just lots of pain getting the dir's ready, if i can do the setting up of a folder and dump it in the Movie Dir, MP will do the rest auto if i dont stuff up the .nfo file hahaha

As i have more then 1 HTPC, auto will saves heaps of time as my TV Shows 5,000+ are the same as TheTVDB.com and its very nice how it goes BAM! all done no user input part from 1 show 90210 but thats due to the numbers and i can do that noprob if MP gets to this stage it will be OMG awesome.

<3 MediaRenamer for doing the names, its a life saver :D
