Hi,
I recently ran across your software. Everything works fine except for the TV-Part. TV-Server finds my Hauppauge WinTv PCI (848/878 chip) as "Analog Hauppauge WinTV TvTuner", but when I try to scan, no channels are found. I've read the wiki about getting s/w encoding cards to run, I tried installing MPEG-encoders, but that didn't help. The TV-Server error-log reads as following:

Code:
2008-05-20 21:26:19.093750 [10]: Exception   :No analog audio/video pins found
2008-05-20 21:26:19.093750 [10]:   site      :Void BuildGraph()
2008-05-20 21:26:19.093750 [10]:   source    :TVLibrary
2008-05-20 21:26:19.093750 [10]:   stacktrace:   bei TvLibrary.Implementations.Analog.TvCardAnalog.BuildGraph()
   bei TvLibrary.Implementations.Analog.TvCardAnalog.Tune(Int32 subChannelId, IChannel channel)
   bei TvLibrary.Implementations.Analog.AnalogScanning.Scan(IChannel channel, ScanParameters settings)
   bei TvService.ChannelScanning.Scan(IChannel channel, ScanParameters settings)

I've included all the logs I could find, the GraphEdit filter names and moinkers. If I missed anything, please let me know.

The drivers can be found at Hauppauge Computer Works: Support There are WDM and VFW drivers available. There's also a ocx-version of the WinTVsoftware for developing third-party software.
Is there a chance of getting this very old piece of hardware to work with MP?

I hope there's someone out here, who can help me :) :D
Markus

55 views, no answer...maybe I have to put my question in another way:

"Is there anyone around here, who is successfully using an Hauppauge WinTV with media portal?"

There's even a wiki about how to get it running. But the advice there didn't help. I mean, if its impossible to use an old analog tv-tuner, just let me know and I'll go out and buy a newer one.

Happy holiday,
Markus

    Hi,
    You need a Software Encoder to try to get it to work like described in wiki.
    If this will work for your chip type i don't know(mine old card didn't work), the best it's to get a hardware encoded card like pvr-150 or pvr-500(same as 150 but dual tuner)

    Regards
    Roy
