My problem, that suddenly appeared is, that when I try to import the informations about the wished series from TheTVDB, MP-tvseries says "no results found". I tried to deactivate firewall on pc and on router, without success. I`ve tried the reinstall of mp-tvseries, without success. I`ve tried to click on "search" button severeal times.. with success but veeeeeeryyyy seldom. TheTVDB.com was never down oder slow or sth like that.
Does anyone have an idea pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaase?

I've attached my log-file.
There is the notice: "Warning: No mirrors received, nothing will be downloaded!" and "Can't connect to http://thetvdb.com/api/<apikey>/mirrors.xml : Timeout"

thx for your time

thetvdb.com is in trouble. They can't afford the bandwith and therefor downtimes and timeouts occur now and then. Donate some money and hope for fortune. At least that's what I do for 3 years now. It's annoying. Nothing changed yet. If I knew of an alternative I would change as fast as I can.

But that can`t be the reason. there are several people who don`t have so much trouble. I think it`s because of the "apikey" in the log.

Does it work for you now? TheTVdB site goes through these periods of up/down, and you just have to be patient till they fix it.

    no it doesn`t work.. :(

I've imported about 60 episodes since you mentioned it doesn't work for you, all worked fine with text-details, episode thumbnails and in the case of a new show fanart+cover.

Assuming it is no other aspect like conflicting plugin, corrupted database/setting, then perhaps you need to look into your ISP, GeoIP or other parts that impact just you. Try a transparant proxy, check network settings, try from a different location, etc.

ok, i've tried it with an us-ip - no result
tried to completely reinstall tv-series - no result
tried to completely reinstall mediaportal 1.4 - no result
tried to completely reinstall mediaportal 1.3 and tv-series - no result
BUT at last i installed mp at another pc and tv-series worked great with the same ip. I have no idea what to do now, cause a complete deinstall does not seem to work..

update: tried to deinstall the firewall and antivir.. that was not the problem

the whole tv-series seems not to connect to the i-net cause i can't choose my language, too.

When you say "reinstall", are you still using the old db3 file? A lot of settings are stored in there, so if you want to properly test, simply rename that database file to something and fire up MP-TVSeries configuration. Then reconfigure everything, but start simple, just feed it a new folder as import path that only contains a few episodes for 1 or 2 shows. So say you normally use "D:\TV Series" and it contains all your shows, then simply enter import path "D:\TV Series\Single Show Example\" on a show that just started or something with 1 or 2 episodes. This will quickly allow you to verify if things work again.

Once you are back to a working situation, then you can decide if you want to try to 'repair' the broken old database or start fresh. My experience is that hunting down what is broken can take much longer, then simply entering the full import path and let it reget everything fresh. It is a pain in the ass, but unless you have a good backup/restore system in place and you are able to go back in time to a backup that you know for sure 'works', then it is easier to just reimport everything.

This can be problematic when you are on a small capped ISP plan, but if you are not, just let it reimport your entire collection right when you go to bed or do some other task. Before you know it, it will all be done. On a good collection there is no interaction at all needed during the import process, and everything will match 100% automatic. If not then you will just have to spend a little longer manualy correcting the import wizard.

PS: One thing you can safely do is export any custom string replacements from the 'old/broken' database, and import them into your 'new' setup (do this from within MP-TVSeries config before you rename/delete the old database), because that is a seperate export/import process and will save you a lot of work if you are like me and have a ton of entries to auto-correct problematic shows during import.

hey, thank you for your ideas but i have to disappoint you - its not the database. That was one of the first things I`ve tried and even with a new db i have no connection. And as I already said - I really deinstalled the whole Mediaportal system with all of its databases and registry keys and had no success. Maybe sth. has left or there is another prog what makes problems, i can`t say. Have tried to close every prog in task-manager/processes but nothing happened.. I`m really desperate
