This problem has been happening for about a year, but only happens about 50% of the time. When the computer wakes from hibernate to record a scheduled programme, it doesn't always record anything. When I try to use the tv service after one of these times I get the error message "no free card available". The only way to fix it is by restarting the tvservice. I can't reproduce this problem on demand as I've no idea what's causing it. Any ideas?

I've tried several different versions of MediaPortal, including switching to MySQL from Microsoft, but the problem still remains.

Hi,

This is a problem that I have with my Skystar 2 cards 100% of the time, I use Devcon to restart tv server and the cards after resume...Maybe this would work for you.

hth.

Likely yo be the tv card. See in config there is a setting to delay identifying cards (even makes reference to the TD 500)

Set this to 20 and see if that helps

Sorry I should have mentioned that. I've already got that set to 20 second delay. I've tried playing with that and used 0 seconds, 60 seconds and still this happens.

I've just looked up Devcon. I'll see if I can give it a try although it looks a bit complicated for me!

Working on principle of latest drivers etc, 1 of 2 things could be giving a problem, tvcard poor connection in pci slot, mine did that 6 months ago, or possibly psu starting to fail, which someone had last week, luckily enough they had access to another psu to test with, and it proved to be that, especially if 3 or 4 years old.

Interesting point about the PSU... This one is about 3 or 4 years old now so it may be worth trying a different one. Will see what happens. Thanks

I have had a similar problem with a couple of cards which was caused by the EPG CRC check. If you are using DVB EPG, then try taking the tick out of the CRC check option and see if that helps.

That's an interesting point about the EPG grabber. I'm currently trying that one because it's quick and easy to test and so far so good....

    Santy,

How are things going since the EPG Grabber CRC change?

Are you still having problems, or is it better now?
