hi,

I used MP1.2 for years and had smooth TV and video playback most of the time. Bought a 1GB videocard to even improve it.
I reinstalled my HTPC few weeks ago and installed MP1.3 on it. Since then playback is much less smooth. In fact, it stutters at almost every 'big' movement.
I have a dual core AMD, 1GB video card, OS mediaportal installation and timeshiftbuffer on SSD drive, recordings on normal harddrives. HW specs attached.
The PC is a like 4 years old but still more than enough according to the recommended specs, but if someone can verify as I'm not a HW specialist?
or maybe there is another problem I'm overlooking?

thanks in advance for the help!

Without logs it will be hard for anyone to help you, but what codecs are you using? Have you enabled hardware acceleration?

It may that you need to enable 'DXVA Native' mode in the LAV video decoder settings - see http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...nfiguration/9_Codecs_and_Renderer/1_TV_Codecs - the picture is out of date, it should look like the attached image 'MP TV codec config.png'.

Click on the wrench/screwdriver icon to the right of any of the LAV Video Decoder entries, which should bring up a window like the attached 'LAV video.png' image.

In the 'Hardware Decoder to use' section, select 'DXVA2 (native)'

I've selected DXVA2 (native) and looks better. Will monitor this evening and provide feedback. This could be it.
    thanks a lot

I had a similar issue, if you keep tv running and browse though other plugins does it freeze or slow the computer down? Do you use I.F.C mine would come to a halt when it started until it had finished.

allthough DXVA2 (native) made things a lot better. Playback still stutters, especially when the camera moves from position. The edges of objects are a bit blurry then. I'm able to watch a movie without being too enoyed, but when the camera moves over a textbanner for instance, its unreadable due to the stuttering/inconsistend edges.
    I attached the logs.
System does not come to a halt when I use other plugins and I did not yet install any special plugins on top of the standard installation. But I reboot twice a day. Not sure what IFC is sorry.

    thanks again!

changed the display framerate to 50Hz. still stuttering and unclear edges.
used dynamic refresh rate (PAL 50 and PAL HD 50). still stuttering and unclear edges..
used 50Hz as default setting in dynamic refresh rate config tab: still stuttering and unclear edges.
even the wife notices the stuttering so its no detail :)
