I had issues with the last few SVN's with the same symptoms. There have been some issues with the TSreader registering correctly.
I just stayed on revision 18080 which works perfectly for me. A few others have mentioned this as well as the most stable out of recent revisions.

Have you taken a look in the log files to see what seems the issue?

Yes, i can see everything on the client, channels, epg, streams, recordings, i can even start a recording, but not playit back. Im actually using the express manager from the client :) did not install it on the server (the client is my work laptop - i work in s/w development mainly desktop applications)

i will check the version you mentioned and let you know. thanks

120dpi is a fontsize setting.. it should be left default (on 96 dpi) ..

What you could try is how its working in my network ..
you have a working tv server.. leave it alone.. :)

    now..clientsetup.. install mediaportal final 0.2.3.0
    svn from 20-03 for mediaportal..
and use the clientplugin from the tvserver build from 20-03..
I would be rather suprised if that is not working for you......

Where do i find the fontsize? looked in the MP config, couldn't find it?

Now i installed 0.2.3.0 final + SVN 18195 [both MP & TV3] but only on the client pc .. still the same thing. I really dont think it's a rev issue, can it be a codec issue? can i check the stream on the client with something like vlc to make sure that its passing through ok?

thanks all for your patience and help :D

If this shows anything bar normal, no video will show, check in advanced that everything set correctly as well.

PD: everything like in your screenshot, font is set to normal.

I attached the logs from MP. When looked at the TsReader.log, i noticed these lines:

    31-03-2008 16:30:54.828 [d4c]vid:GetMediaType()

I'm guessing that this is where the problem is. I tried taking this link [rtsp://htpc1/stream1.0] and running it through vlc (while having the server start timeshifting of one of the channels) but nothing played. I then tried to run the ts file directly into vlc, it played with no problem ...

i closed all my firewalls..

did you actually run all updates..
it could be something stupid like you dont have windows mediaplayer 10 or 11 ? (default on xp is 9) ..
    10 is a prerequisite for mediaportal ?

download & replace StreamingServer.dll in "Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server" Folder(remember to stop/kill TVServer first. Seems like a bug has sneaked in during filter movement.

no luck with that either .. still no image

have you tried changing channels after you applied the dll ?
It could take 1 or 2 channel changes to work properly..

Otherwise I really have no clue at the moment
