Hi Lads,

I've installed new release of MediaPortal and I've got problem with new tagreader (taglib-sharp) - there is no polish letters in database after scanning (mp3 files) - instead of polish letters there are strange signs (squares, question marks, digits, etc). Same situation is when I create playlist from files containing polish letters in ID3v1 tags. When I create playlist in WMP11 and use it in MP, polish letters are cut and these files are skipped when playing :(

Previous TagReader plugin worked good. Can I use old one instead of new one? Can anybody help?

Best regards,
emilento

Funny, because it uses UTF8 like the "old" Tagreader.
Could you please post one of your files at a file sharing site and PM me the link, so that i may analyse it?

The problem with skipping the files from the playlist should have nothing to do with the Tagreader.
If this is a problem, this should have been there since a very long time already

    Hi hwahrmann,

Thank you for quick reply. I attached playlists, log file and sample mp3 file which contains polish letters in ID3v1 tag. Filename is polish also. In the first part of log file I was playing sample file from playlist created by MP and in the second part - playlist created by WMP. I was using BASS player. I hope these files help you.

    Regards,

try with the next public build.
the library was using by mistake Latin1 charset only.
should be fixed. let me know if it is still an issue

Thank you hwahrmann for your time and work.

I've made new installation of MP and I've installed the newest snapshot. Unfortunately it did not help. Still no polish letters. I'm letting you know because it is still an issue.

    Filename is "ąćęłńóśźż.mp3"
In ID3v1 tag Artist, Title & Album are "ąćęłńóśźż".
Only one letter is good - "ó".

I've made screenshot how that file looks like in my MP.

    Thanks & Regards,

    emliento,

i have the same results in MP as you have, cause i'm running the Latin1 charset.
Seems like Cultural Settings are not processed correctly.

please run the attached program from within the MediaPortal root directory.
open a command prompt and give your mp3 file as paramter.
please post the output of the program.

    thanks,

    Helmut

    Helmut,

I thing you are right - Cultural Settings are not processed correctly. See the attached file below.
I also checked Language Settings (to make sure) in Control Panel and I've got Polish set everywhere.

    Regards,
    emilento
