    Hi!

Satisfied user of MP, but still in "learn mode"

On my Humax STB I can use the "i" (info) button on my remote to show programme info (description of the program that I am currently watching):

    - 1 click shows time and title in a small window (just like MP does)
    - 1 click more shows the long description in a larger window
    - 1 click more closes the window and I'm back watching the channel

Now, back on MediaPortal; I know that I can press "i" (info) on my remote to show the now/next window, and I know I can get the mini EPG on screen with "Enter"...but how can I get the programme info on screen? Is there a keyboard shortcut or something like that?

For the sake of sanity, I can't figure it out, and I can't find it in the Wiki or by searching the forum.

If this is not implemented, I suggest the devs take up to concideration to put this in MediaPortal 2. the way the Humax STB does it seems VERY logical to me :D

The WAF on MP has to be high, as the wife is very satisfied with the Humax STB, and I have to convince her that MP is just at "good" (meaning user-friendly).

    Hi!

Thank you for the answer :)

Well, I guess I get the same, but only without the description (the white text). I think that I may have found out why, because when I use the EPG there are only descriptions on one channel, and not on the 3 others.

I tested with the included 2 skins + monochrome. Same situation in all 3, so not a skin-problem (well, you know, not the facial skin-problem anyways)

Since I have only got 4 channels in all, shouldn't the EPG download go really fast? I mean, I can understand the freeview users or the Freesat with their +30 channels may take some time, but...

I have tried to set the timeout to 60 minutes and will wait to see what happens, but I don't think it will work. My settop box downloads the EPG in less than one minute from cold boot.

Will post back later today when I have tested the increased timeout.

Should be really fast, for myself in TVServer config epg grab have all the options enabled, fill gaps etc, timeout is default 10 seconds, sometimes raising that to 15 can solve some issues with grabbing, not sure which setting you have raised to 60 mins, but should be totally unnecessary.

40 channels for me usually populate in about a minute if i empty epg and start over

The 60 minutes is in both idle and busy mode. I know it's way hight, but it was just to rule out some stupid timeout :)

If i understand MP correct, the the EPG (along with the info-text) is stored in the database, right (MySQL)?
Perhaps I should check if it is there in the first place...

    Will get back later.

I don't know if the current situation is permanent, but at the moment the description is in both the EPG and the mini EPG...but one of the channels took like 1 hour before any description was populated in the EPG...

Will keep an eye on the problem and post back if I still have problems.

Thank you for the replies :)
