    Thanks for that patch.

It seems to have fixed my problem, at least in TV-Server. Hopefully things will work properly in the client as well.

I understand that it's not a perfect solution, but I can live with it.
    Great :)
Please do investigate improving your setup though because I'm *very* reluctant to be maintaining such patches in the long term - I really only provided it as a *temporary* work around.

I understand that, but at least it'll let me get my HTPC up and running already.

Also, the patch seems to have broken the 'Preview' functionality under the TV Channels tab in TV-Server configuration. I press the 'Preview' button and nothing happens. The channels work fine in Mediaportal client though, so I'm not worried about it. It's a small price to pay.

    Thanks for the patch.

Looks like I spoke too soon.

The FTA channels and most paid channels work fine, but there's a few that don't tune reliably on the 7010ix (they work fine on the HVR-3000). They sometimes work (although take a long time to tune in), but usually Mediaportal just freezes when accessing them. I understand that could be a side effect of the patch.

Can you tell me what in-line amp you use and where you bought it? I might see if that helps me. For now I'm just going to map the channels that I have problems with to the HVR-3000 only.

    Thanks.

    Hi again

Do you mind if I ask what transponders you're struggling with? An amplifier is not always the best answer. Those Sky LNBs have been failing quite a lot recently. If you're happy to experiment then -->this<-- is what I got. It turns out my memory was slightly off - 20dB not 15dB...

I haven't made a list yet, but I think all of the channels were on the 12358, 12394 and 12421 transponders.

It's possible that my multiswitch is at fault. It's rated for 250MHz-750MHz, 950MHz-1450MHz and 1650MHz-2150MHz. Those LNB's are at 1608MHz, 1644MHz and 1671MHz with my 10750MHz LNB. The seller assured me it'd work between 1450MHz and 1650MHz, but that may be wrong. It does seem to be working fine with the HVR-3000 though.

I'll disable all but one tuner and go through all the channels with each tomorrow, try to make a list of the ones that I'm having problems with. For now I'll just use that to map those channels solely to the HVR-3000.

    Note that 12358H is a DVB-S2 transponder - the 7010ix doesn't support DVB-S2. Mistake I guess?

Yes, you're right. SM Greats was one of the ones I had problems with, and I just picked the first result from the Satbeams page.

Looks like it's 12608 MHz then. Sorry.

When you work out the conversion to intermediate frequency for 12608 on a 10750 MHz LNB you'll get 1858 MHz. That is around the frequency that many DECT cordless phones use these days. Interference perhaps?

That's a possibility. We do have some 1.9 GHz DECT phones (and some 2.4GHz phones).

That's not the only transponder we have trouble with though. I'll make a list later today.

I think I might try re-installing Windows and starting from scratch. I don't think I had this particular problem when I first installed MediaPortal (although I had so many I can't really be sure). I might just install Windows + updates + MP and start from there.

    Well, reinstalling Windows didn't help.

I have a clean install + drivers + updates + MP, and I get the same problem. I'm reverting back to my old disk image now.

I'm just going to see if MP runs stable with my one good tuner (the HVR-3000), and if it does I'll just buy a new single tuner to replace the 7010ix. Probably only need 2 tuners really, with MP being able to record multiple channels per mux.
