A few days ago I had a hard drive crash and lost mediaportal, (and all my backup disk images). MP was working fine with my current hardware up until then. Same release (rc3), same OS (xp sp3 MCE 2005), same tv-card drivers.

I did a reformat and reinstall and had a bad stuttering problem with DVB. Tried everything I could think of, read all the forum posts. No luck. Decided to reformat and reinstall again just to see if Id missed anything.

I did that today, and now cant get a signal when scanning on *either* tuner card. Checked the aerial connections (twice), checked the DVB booster box (twice). Read all the forum posts here about "no signal" when scanning, and cant.get.any.signal.

The cards are installed properly. The drivers are the same I was using before (They all look peachy in device manager). Cant figure out whats going on with it. Can anyone shed some light on why, with the same hardware and same OS as I had before the crash, this might be happening?

    Anyone?

Also, for some reason there's more tuners listed than I have in the machine. Both TV tuners are hybrid, so should only be 4 (2x dvb + 2x analogue)

I am only using the two that report cam and init (im assuming this is correct) - and have disabled the rest. When I try to delete them, they reappear (not sure if this is a red herring or not)

Fixed the problem. It came right after a lot of tweaking, but I cant say exactly 'how' because at one point in the process I discovered one of the kids had pulled the aerial lead out of the wall.....
