I have been using MP for.. 1day now... And I'm amazed by how easy it was to configure, and how stable it is.
Could someone give me a hint on how to correctly play Nero Digital mp4 video files ?
I installed the last MP package available on the site and have the full nero suite installed (with corresponding codecs).
mp4 extension was correctly registered and I could manage to play the videos but I don't have any sound.
My MP4 files are encoded from original DVD with NeroRecode and original AC3 sound tracks.

Evrything is working OK (video and sound) for other files formats (DIVX, MPG2, etc...)

Many thanks,:D

Use FFDShow for Divx\Xvid\Nero MP4, when installing just use the default settings.

Works fine and does not interfere with other software.

OK, I have installed ffdshow but:
    - Only sound codec is available in MP setup screen, not the video codec. So for video, I'm still using the Nero codec
    - I have the sound now but, for MP4 with 2 sound tracks, both are mixed at play time (I can hear both sound tracks !).
FFDshow installed without touching default parameters

    Any idea ?
    Thanks,
    Pablo

Use whichever codecs you like for video\audio, try the MPV and MPA.

Will have to look at the 2 sound tracks playing simultaneously.

But better for testing if you use standard codecs.

Right this is what i managed to find about above.

as Nero limits the playback of Chapters, Subtitles and multiple audio streams to Nero Showtime

Could not find anyway around this, no problem for me as single audio, they are all just 5.1 on the default CINEMA setting. (which does seem to be the recommended setup, on websites referring to Nero Digital).

Anyone know a way around this.

    Thanks for your investigations.
Just one comment: sound tracks /chapters forward, etc... are correctly played in VLC player as an example.
    regards,
    Pablo

VLC and WMP6.4 are a world unto themselves, as all codecs are built into the players, so generally they will play something, that Windows Media Player (which MP relies on) will not.
