My MP / TVServer have been working fine for some time now until I experienced a nosound problem from MP on the TV Server. Sound is working fine from all other programs and MP clients on other PC's was working fine with sound and all, so its a local MP problem.

I have now tried to reinstall MP / TVserver, from scratch, in a last attempt to solve this problem.
This didn't help much. In fact I had problems to get it back up and running again (see TV Server config hangs) for details).

I suspect the problem is codec related, but need help to nail it down.

Please see attached files for MP log files.

MP mute problem

After all this problem was just too easy to solve..
I didn't know that MP had its one volume setting in the volume mixer (lower right conrner).
When I was looking for it it at first it wasn't there...??
Then I started up MP in its own window and had another peek at the volume mixer.
Now it was showing, and sure it was set all the way down.
Adjusted the volumw and vola its working fine again !! :)

Quite likely so. As audio is handled by my amplifier, I usually have no use for the computer audio controls.

It would be nice if there was some visual indication of the muted status... Perhaps there is?

IIRC, there is, but only visible when viewed in full screen (video, TV etc.).

I do second the request for a mute logo - regardless of screen viewed - if the above is correct.

Also, sound can be muted in several ways; master, wave etc... depending on setting given in MP config.
