No sound when pause - close to tray - resume (1 Viewer)

Here is what happens. I am watching a recorded program and pause it using space and then alt-f4 to close. I have MP configured to minimize to tray on close. I then start MP again and it returns to the recorded tv list with the programme running but in the small window at the top. If I then press X to return to full screen and then space to un-pause, I get a faint click sound and then no more sound. If I stop playback and then re-run it from where I left it the sound is fine.

I have tried playing with various start/resume options in MP Configuration but none of them help.

MediaPortal.log attached. It doesn't seem to show anything wrong as far as I can tell...

EDIT: System specs updated.

Your log file is really strange. I don't see any of the TsReader and graph setup related output that I'd otherwise expect to see.
    Are you using Argus (ForTheRecord)?
Do you have/use an AV receiver or external sound system? If so, how is it connected?

No I don't use Argus although I did try it at one point and then removed it when I solved my slow tuning issues. The ForTheRecord plugin is still installed but it isn't enabled.

Yes I use an AV Receiver however I don't have it connected to the HTPC directly. I run HDMI to the TV and the use the S/PDIF out on the TV to pass the sound through. I do this with anything connected to the TV via HDMI because it solves any tv input lag issues causing sound and video to be out of sync. As an added bonus it means that I never have to switch inputs on my AV Receiver.

    Hmmm...
I just wonder whether it is actually the HTPC that is not producing audio, or whether the TV or receiver could be involved.
I still don't know what is going on in your log files. Something is really not normal there.

I will try sending the sound via different routes and swapping things in and out to see if it sheds any light. I should be able to find out which component is not cooperating using some of the other bits of kit I have knocking around.

OK, more testing. I tried using the S/PDIF output (setting to to the default output in Control Panel->Sound) and I get the same problem. However...

I have discovered that the sound isn't gone altogether it's just very very quiet. For normal volume I have the Amp on around -54dB. When I do this cycle the volume needs to be turned right up to -30dB to hear anything at all and up to -3dB to get the same volume as before. Doing that is a bit terrifying in case the sound decided to come flooding back at normal volume.

Repeating the cycle again doesn't reduce the volume any further.

EDIT: Could it be some sort of sound normalization problem?[DOUBLEPOST=1367876832][/DOUBLEPOST]More info...

Control Panel -> Sound -> RC HDMI -> Properties -> Enhancement -> Loudness Equalization - is off

    Switching it on doesn't help.

I also played with all of the Audio codec settings related to Normalization and downmixing to stereo. Still the same.

Sounds like it is related to Windows/drivers, not MP... hmmm.
I'm not familiar enough with Windows 7 (use XP and Ubuntu Linux) to make an intelligent comment about exactly where the problem could be.

It weird because the HDMI comes from a dedicated ATI 7750 which has it's own audio device, and the S/PDIF port which uses on-board Realtek. It could well be Windows 7 but I haven't seen any other posts with anything like the same problem.
