No sounds at all from 1.4 (1 Viewer)

Everything was running fine a week after I upgraded to 1.4. We were watching a video file and hit the rewind function and no sound. Rebooted PC - no sound. I have uninstalled and re-installed 1.4 and no sound.

I have tried using ffshow and LAV for the audio decoders. No sound at all in MP - no menu sounds or video sounds.

Audio works just fine over HDMI outside of MP, so it is not the hardware.

?????

Open up Windows volume mixer (when MP is running) - check that the slider for MP is not at zero....

We were watching a video file and hit the rewind function and no sound.

This is a known issue that can happen when using FFWD/REW sometimes.

Yes, but does this issue essentially become permanent? As I said - I have rebooted the PC and TV multiple times, shut down the PC, uninstalled and re-installed MP.

Not sure what you mean - Windows will remember the sound mixer settings, so rebooting etc won't change those.

This is the control I'm talking about (the MediaPortal slider) Sound Mixer.jpg

I'm fairly sure I double checked that the volume for the audio device was up.

Again - everything OUTSIDE MP plays sound fine - it is only MP that has no sound at all, with either the default DirectSound device, or the specific sound card selected.

You have to start MP and then start Music/TV/Video. If you then check the mixer you will something like that:
