Have been using MP for about a week now with almost no problems. However, have not got thumbs to work for none of my movies (avi, mkv, etc). For example my tv-episodes or my music videos or my full-length videos.

In explorer it works perfectly, haali-splitter pops-up and generate them automatically. I also use ffdshow if that helps. The plugin "thumbnailer 1.0" did not help either. I have searched the forum but did not find this problem. Same problem with RC4.

Anyone who knows what the solution is?

Solution: Found this line:
"2008-12-30 12:26:59.224055 [ERROR][MPMain]: Unable to start pluginrocessPlugins.Thumbnailer.Thumbnailer exceptionystem.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'E:\System Volume Information' is denied."
Removed E: from my thumbnailer plugin, restarted and voila! Everything works Now I just need to find out how to get that drive to work, but that can come later

I too am having issue creating thumbnails... but I'm NOT using the plug-in. WHY does it exist seeing as the main MP application has the exact same option in the configuration? What is the purpose of this plug-in? Why does the built-in version in MP 1.0 not seem to be working for me?

I am not in front of MP right now, but I think the built in thumbs is currently only applicable to pictures, music and TV recordings.

Still the built-in thumbnail generator does not work in MP 1.0.2 however I now get a boat load of pop-up errors indicating mtn.exe had a problem using the (specific) arguments...

I saw the thumbnail feature was supposed to be fixed in release 1.0.1 but I'm still not getting them.

Any ideas? I can turn ON the thumbnail generation for Recorded TV shows and generate a log if that helps.

Maybe this patch that I made can be useful. It uses the built-in generator (mtn.exe) but for all video files not only recorded tv.
