    TV - HTPC Connection:

When I start my HTPC, and then MP (no matter if it starts automatically or by hand), and go to My TV, i get no picture, even though TV is enabled. I have to disable TV, and enable it again. after that i get a perfect picture, and everything works as expected. i can even close MP, and start it again - everything is fine. until the next restart, after which the first activation of My TV fails again.
This makes it impossible to do any automatic recordings with pvr-scheduler, because it does not receive a correct video-stream after startup.

what i get in the logs is a _very_ long list of "wait for pmt: -1". i checked the pmt-ids in my channel configuration, and they are all filled out, and look correctly.

i already tried the option in power-scheduler to restart the tv-engine on resume, but it does not seem to do anything on a plain boot from soft-off.

when i start Terratec Homecinema instead, i get a picture at the first try.

any ideas how to fix/workaround this?

    of course!
what i did for this log was
    *) turn on pc
    *) start mediaportal svn
    *) go to my TV
*) wait a few seconds (10 or so)
*) don't see a picture, and no sound
    *) turn off tv
    *) turn on tv
    *) voila, picture and sound
    *) close MP

what's weird is that you get a very poor signal quality , the first time you are entering mytv :
    18.09.2006 17:07:14 968 [Info.] DVBGraphBDA: signal strength:100 signal quality:8 signal present:True locked:True

... and don't get the pmt...

Did you try disabling 'Hardware PID filtering' in the card options config?

    thanks for the suggestions.

changing audio/video codecs didn't help unfortunately, and i couldn't find the option to turn off hw PID filtering. is it supposed to be in MP-Setup, under TV->Cards->Edit?

other than that i had some success when I manually disabled TV and closed MP before shutdown, but that didn't seem to work reliably either.

is the card not correctly initialized, or is there anything in particular that "pmt: -1" indicates, which i could try to change in the source (maybe put some explicit re-initialize cards code somewhere after startup?)

this option is only shown if your card supports it. and your card doesnt ;)

When have this issues started? Do you have the same problems with plain 0.2.0.0 final too?

could this be related to a too high signal level? i have read this in other threads, but before going out and buying a damper, can anybody tell me if this could be a possible cause for my problem, and if so, is there a utility to test the signal level?
