Hello,

First let me thank all the participants in this forum. I have always found help or at least ideas which lead me to solutions since I started using MP back in the 0.2 something days.

I have a curious problem. Searching through the posts, I found my problem, but not the same circumstances...

I just replaced my motherboard, CPU and RAM. I reformatted the HD and reinstalled everything from scratch - essentially a new computer.

I configured the TV Server, then Mediaportal. Everything works except the TV...

I have the TV set to start as soon as I select My TV. When I do, I get to a blank (un-started TV). When I select the TV Guide, I get an empty grid with the words "Label Missing" in a few places. I can't start the TV and I did import the guide in the TV-Server App using the XMLTV. Although I live in Canada, I pull in the TVGuide using mc2xml.exe and the Youngstown ZipCode (14741 I believe) which has all the OTA channels (analog and digital I pull in with my antenna). It used to work, but now it doesn't.

I read that there's been a change in the tvguide database matrix (extra column?). Does that mean mc2xml.exe will not work anymore? If not, what can I use? I used zap2it before mc2xml, but they stopped that service a couple years ago.

If mc2xml.exe should work, what could the problem be? I read that there was a change in the matrix, so importing an old one messed things up... I kept the XML folder from my previous install, could that be the problem? I did do a fresh import into the TV-Server App... Anyways, I'm at a bit of a loss. I hope I didn't overlook the obvious. I think I did my homework.

If anyone has fixed the same issue or anyone knows how to fix this, I (and more importantly my girlfriend) would appreciate the help.. Thanks in advance, I know "the forum" will have the solution. (System Specs below if they matter in this case)

Bruno

    Hi Bruno,

I used to get that when the network connection to my server was not working, but you are on single seat so this is not of help I suppose. It does generally mean for me that MP and TV Server are not talking. The first time this happened for me was on a fresh install where the firewall was not configured correctly. I think MP now gives you better messages (Ports blocked etc) about what has gone wrong when this happens, but to auto-start TV when it is not able to connect may be an exception to this.

    My log is attached.

    Issue:

This is a fresh install on a new install of Win XP.
Everything is working great - except the TV.
I have TV to start automatically when I enter the My TV menu - but it doesn't.
When I try to manually turn it on, it won't.
When I enter the TV Guide - the grid is empty (not even boxes), but "Label Missing" appears in a few places when items should be.

I'm using the xmltv plugin and mc2xml.exe to download the data. I can import the channels and info (according to the plugin) and successfully map all channels from the database to the xml data.

The TV channels work great in the TV Server config - preview everyone just fine.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have the same problem on a new computer running Win 7 with MP 1.1.3. I am using a kworld pc150-u tuner to get analog channels. It works fine with MCE and the software that came with it, but I had to install some software encoders for MP to be able to scan for channels. That was fixed and now I can scan for channels. But I get the MP to work the radio or tv. The tv guide says missing labels. I have done the grab now with epg plugin.

    my logs are attached

    any help is greatly appreciated
