How about TVServer, does that recognise the card, MP's inbuilt TV engine is not supported with newer cards, unless you add the required information yourself. see here.When you installed, you need to accept the default options, which includes HD (if freeview ever goes down that path)This makes the TVServer do the recordings\streaming\standby\resume for all TV related, Mediaportal is then used for watching\epg\enabling recordings + all the other multimedia functions.You do need a directx gpu with at least 128mb of memory (preferably 256mb) for MP to run smoothly.You may want to reconsider the MCE thing, as it will work nicely with lower spec machines, as no directx used.
