All,

I'm building my MP box and I'm having a problem when I attempt to watch TV in MediaPortal. Whenever I attempt to watch TV, I only get a black screen. If maximized, I get a "No signal detected" error. I find this especially strange because during setup MP is able to locate all of my channels. When I initially installed, I saw the channels show up during an Autotune, however, when I do one now, they no longer show up. I am also no longer receiving audio when I go to "My radio". It detects the signals just fine, but I am not getting any audio. I am able to turn the TV on and off and turn timeshifting on and off, but I still get no signal.

I have dug through the logs (attached) and in the MediaPortal.log file I found an entry mentioning the setStreamConfigSetting. See the entry below.

2007-08-25 19:33:16.109375 [Info.][6]: SWGraph:capture FrameRate set to 29.97
2007-08-25 19:33:16.109375 [Info.][6]: VideoCaptureDevice:setStreamConfigSetting() FAILED no format returned
2007-08-25 19:33:16.109375 [Info.][6]: VideoCaptureDevice: capture FrameRate done :29.97
2007-08-25 19:33:16.109375 [Info.][6]: VideoCaptureDevice:preview FrameRate set to 29.97
2007-08-25 19:33:16.109375 [Info.][6]: VideoCaptureDevice:setStreamConfigSetting() FAILED no format returned

So far, I have attempted the following to fix this problem:

1. Reinstalled MP (several times)
2. Uninstalled, Reinstalled, and Updated Device drivers (for PVR-350)
3. Switched the input to antenna and then back to Cable.
4. Rescanned all channels (all are found).
5. Changed decoders to all available options.
6. Installed all Windows updates.
7. Made sure all channels are assigned to the card.
8. Made sure I had enough free space on C: (about 2GB right now).
9. Unregistered and re-registered sbe.dll.
10. Made sure I was running in Administrator mode.

I have also looked at the following forum articles:

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...?highlight=Hauppauge+WinTV+PVR+PCI+II+Decoder

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/es_ist_keine_freie_karte_verf_gbar-t16732p3.html (even though my German sucks)

I am greatly frustrated because at one point I did have TV and radio - after a reboot though, they all disappeared. I am about to the point of just wiping the drive and reinstalling windows, but I thought I'd try you guys first. Any thoughts?

Update:

When attempting to watch TV or listen to the Radio, I have noticed that the CPU is spiking up and staying there. So it appears that MP is trying to process the media but for some reason it just can't.

However, I am able to listen to MP3s through MP and I am able to watch TV through the Hauppauge WinTV2000 application.

At this point, I think the problem lies with how MP is trying to decode the signals. Anyone else?

Update:

Since I have no other options, I have decided to reinstall XP. I am planning on making images of the drive as I go along so I can restore backwards to troubleshoot this. As I proceed I will post updates.

You find channels, so your TV card is working...
I see you are running old versions of MP, Try this:

1: install Windows, update to Service Pack 2.0
2: Install the .Net 2.0
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
3: install K-Lite codec pack
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm
4: install drivers for Hauppauge PVR-350.
5: install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC1
https://www.team-mediaportal.com/download.html
+ MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot important!
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal_nightly_builds-f198.html
6: install TVEngine3 Snapshot
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/tv_server_nightly_builds-f197.html
(see http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/TV-Engine_0.3 for install guide, you need to install more programs)
7: Run setup for both MP and MP TV server (scan for channels).

Then it should work, it does for me now....
