I have installed MediaPortal 1.3.0 on my Dell Studio 1745 laptop running windows7 . The dropdown list in TV Server/enotebook/"DVB-TP MediaPortal IP TV Source filter" lists SAP Announcements, 4 Austria, 1 Finland, 3 Germany, 1 Imagenio Test, 1 Norway TelenorFiber, 1 Slovakia Swan and 3 Slovenia Services but no UK services.

None of the services listed provides channels (e.g. the Norway service tests 120 channels).

Please advise.

Thank you for your advice. In "TuningParameters" there are several files among which are "dvbip" containing a list of m3u files corresponding to the services I see in the dropdown list in TVServers (SAP Announcements ----- Slovenia t2tv) and "dvbtp" containing xml files of many more services, including the UK services.
I could just interchange the two file names but from what you have said I suspect that MediaPortal would not be able to cope with the xml files. I shall therefore see if I can find a way of converting xml to m3u.

Okay, let's try this from a different perspective...

What kind of tuner do you have?

The DVB-IP tuner that you're attempting to use is for TV-over-the-internet. Generally it is only useful if you subscribe to a TV service that is provided by your internet service provider. I suspect this does not actually apply for you.

A DVB-T (or DVB-T2) tuner is used to receive digital channels using an aerial. Physically speaking, you need a USB, PCI or PCIe tuner connected to your PC in order to receive such channels. You'd also have an aerial connected to that tuner.

So... do you have a DVB-T tuner?
If so, do you see it listed in the tuner list in TV Server configuration?

Thank you for your advice. In "TuningParameters" there are several files among which are "dvbip" containing a list of m3u files corresponding to the services I see in the dropdown list in TVServers (SAP Announcements ----- Slovenia t2tv)...
Yup, that is for internet TV. Again, if you don't know what this is then I don't think it applies for you.

..and "dvbtp" containing xml files of many more services, including the UK services.
This is dvbt (ie. DVB-T), as explained above. You must have a physical tuner to receive these services.
If TV Server recognises such a tuner connected to your computer then you'll see a section like this in TV Server configuration:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...Server_Configuration/02_TV_Servers/Scan_DVB-T

That is where you would scan for channels. Not with the DVB-IP tuner.

I could just interchange the two file names but from what you have said I suspect that MediaPortal would not be able to cope with the xml files. I shall therefore see if I can find a way of converting xml to m3u.
This will never work. Don't bother even trying.
