Further information....

All of the TV channels are viewable for preview in the Mediaportal Configuration and the OS is now MCE2005 RU2.

if you are using Vista, have you tried switching to EVR mode?
In MP config/filters/renderer change to EVR and make sure that you have the aero interface turned on. A few people have reported a similar error and this fixed it (and actually improved it).

Make sure you are in Expert mode for this option to appear (I think)

Otherwise, post some logs as it should make helping a lot easier.
The logs can be found by going to start/programs/team mediaportal/mediaportal logs.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll try to change the renderer and look for some logs. The OS is actually MCE2005 RU2.

Some more information, I have 1 client and it works perfectly....its the machine with the server and client on it that is still giving issues.

Both installations were on a freshly formatted install of the OS within days of each other.

Also, the audio for the TV and videos are working but the video isn't.

OK, so I downgraded my graphics driver from 8.10 to 8.7. I know have videos working properly but not the TV video.

    Attached is my log file.

Can someone see something I'm missing????

I saw that MP RC3 needed WMP11 so I formated and reinstalled MCE2005 RU2. RC2 was quite stable but now I can't anything to work consistantly.

The TV issue was with the codecs and graphics drivers. I downgraded to ATI 8.7 from 8.10 and the videos began to work. The TV works once in a while now after uninstalling ffdshow.

Also, the only codecs that will show any picture at all are the default MPV and hauppauge codecs that come with the PVR150 drivers.

Anyone who can make any sense out of the log above please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Gave up.

Running MCE2005 now. Not nearly as many features as MediaPortal and not nearly as nice but works staight away and runs much faster.

Will check back in in a few months to check where the development is at.

    Good luck everyone!

All working fine now. Reinstalled the whole box (must have been rubish I put on before) as I had to review the hard drives config!
