I have this card in my HP media center PC
"Conexant Falcon II NTSC Video Capture"
It works with MCE, Cyberlink, & BeyondTV and other capture programs.

I keep getting.
"No video Capture/s were found...................."

I have tried many things including editing “CaptureCardDefinitions.xml” to limit the file to only "Falcon" cards as indicated in one forum message. Many reboots and still no luck. I have even tried MP version 2 and 2.1 both with the same results.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Thanks ... Bob

Your best bet is to enter the data into your own CaptureCard Definitions file. The last person that sent the data in still has not gotten a reply.

The devs are very busy with the new TVEngine. My guess is that they are no longer updating the old version, because in the TVEngine a CaptureCardDefinitions file will no longer be needed. (this is only a guess)

The wiki has a short entry on doing this. First find an existing entry that closely matches your card (if any do):

http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Add_TVCard_to_natively_supported_list

Paul

EDIT: The wiki entry is for BDA cards, I think yours is WMD or somthing like that. Just substitute what you have found.

Hi all!!!

Please help me!
I have a Leadtek dv2000 software capture card but i can't get it to work. I edited the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file, but the devid (ven_14f1&dev_8800&subsys_6620107d&rev_05) in the file is equal to mine in the device manager (VEN_14F1&DEV_8800&SUBSYS_6620107D&REV_05).
The card appears in the Mediaportal.log:

2006.12.16. 14:11:44 device:WinFast DV2000 WDM Video Capture. id:mad:device:pnp:\\?\pci#ven_14f1&dev_8800&subsys_6620107d&rev_05#5&756bb1c&0&60309

What can be the probelm? I get the no capture cards found message.

Often it is the MPEG encoder that is incorrectly listed in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file. If you don't have the same MPEG encoder installed, it won't work. You can either install the one listed or change it to reflect the one that you have installed.

Either way, you can find out the problem by using GraphEdit, and creating a graph. You may need to go through the process of adding a new card to acheive this. A good place to start is to try using the filters that are listed in the CaptureCardDefinitions file, for your card.
