Hi Guys

First of I'm a newbie with MediaPortal, but it has so mane VERY cool features (amongst other to be able to play ISO and BIN files, VERY cool). It looks to be extremely feature rich.

I've gotten the music to play, and it sounds very nice, sent via SPDIF to the receiver, though it only sends it as 2.1 and not 5.1 as I want it to, but that could be somewhere else, like the sound driver or something like that.

The biggest problem is that I can't play back any video's. I've installed ffdshow and the other two filters recommended, and I've removed the K-Lite codec pack.
I can play the videos back in Windows Media Player, but if I select a video, it says 'click' and then nothing happens???

Any ideas on this?

Best regards
Kenneth

Ahh, got it partially 'fixed'. A complete reinstall of the machine in question made it work as designed for AVI etc. files.
But it still doesn't playback ISO files, any input on that?

ideally should use k-lite codecs, as this will enable you to watch most video formats

as for sound check your audio drivers to see if there is an option to send all to spdif as 5.1, i know my auzentech converts all audio to full DTS for me

Hmm, ok I installed klite codecs, but it still didn't change anything with ISO playback.

I can play video, music, DVD from the DVD drive, and also the few DVD's I have as VOB files on the server.
But I still cannot play back DVD's stored as ISO files???
Shouldn't I just be able to go to video's, and select an ISO file, and then daemon tools will mount it, and it should start the playback of the DVD?

Or am I missing something here?

So presuming you have daemon tools installed, make sure that you have selected the location of the dameon tools exe within the media portal options
