I can't seem to get any video file to work with the internal player. I think i have all codecs set up right as they work fine in other plays such as VLC but i would rather use the internal player than external.

Could anyone give me any ideas to the problem?

    Hi,

you have to use Windows Media Player to check, if all your codecs are setup fine. VLC uses own internal codecs for video playback. Therefore it is no good indicator for what is going wrong.

Anything in the logs? /Team Media Portal/MediaPortal/logs/

    Turned "Exclusive DirectX mode" on/off?

    Yes, Flip
I used to solve the same problem as reported.
The problem now is that in Setup MP , in general section, doesn't appear the possibility to turn off "use exlusive directx" option.
    What to do now?

I've just checked in Windows Media Player and all files i were trying to play appear to work fine.

In the error log i just have this line:
    2007-02-07 01:45:39.906250 [ERROR][MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - E:\Video Files\Films\ATL.2006.iNTERNAL.DVDRip.AC3.XviD-GEN.CD01.avi - skipping track!

    Hi,

Henry: Do you use SVN? Afaik this option now can be checked section wise. Meaning it now can be found in My Video, My DVD, My TV...

jerome: As said above. Try disabling Exclusive DirectX mode. You may also set the logging level somewhat higher. Not only errors, we might get a better clue then.

    Hi,

I have changed the DirectX Settings but still it does not play any video files. I have been playing around with the decoder settings but still have had no luck.

    Any other ideas?

Here is what the log reads:

    Hi,

I just tried to use the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder and still had no luck at all.

The error log still reads this:

    2007-02-08 01:16:50.968750 [ERROR][MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - E:\Video Files\Films\dmd-illusionist.avi - skipping track!
    2007-02-08 01:17:47.484375 [ERROR][MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - E:\Video Files\Films\dmt-itrustu2kme.avi - skipping track!

Do you think it could be because i am using onboard video at the moment? Although everything else plays fine in other players, even x264.

I tried to change to Debug as Logging mode but still i get no more info.

    Wooohooo :D

    I am a happy bunny!

I just installed ffdshow_beta1_20061211_clsid and all videos work absolutly perfect, must of been an issue with my codecs then.

Thanks for all the help!:D :D
