Non-standard skins crash with GUI overlay (1 Viewer)

Any time I use a skin that is not Blue Two, and I try to get a GUI overlay, eg, to change crop settings in LiveTV, MP crashes. Any suggestions?

This happens with several SVN's, several video card drivers, and all skins.

Also, I have latest version of DirectX 9.0c from MS website.
