If it is a plug-in to MCE, it should also work with MP - there is a plugin for MP which allows all MCE plugins to work with MP

There could be possible to use the plugin EasyApps & Opera browser set to always show in fullscreen. The url for NRK Nett TV (which is the parameter) is http://www1.nrk.no/nett-tv don't have time to play with it now, but if someone have report back if it works.

MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo.
