So I've recently upgraded to 1.2.1 and all is well except I can not access the MediaPortal Configuration. When I double click it it says that MediaPortal and the TV Plugin are running different versions, MP 1.2.1 and TV 1.2.0.

I now I've installed 1.2.1 for both and when I try to run the 1.2.1 installer, it says 1.2.1 detected and the only option I have is to do a fresh install.

I would post the logs but I don't know where to get them since I can't get into the configuration app.

Thoughts??

    Hi Cousin_Jerry

Did you stop the TV service (as recommended) before running the upgrade?
I think your choices are to uninstall and then reinstall, or something slightly trickier - start the installer, find the installer package for the TV Server and TV plugin in your temp folder (probably C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Temp on XP or C:\ProgramData\Temp on Vista and 7 - a hidden folder so paste the path into the Windows explorer address bar or enable viewing of hidden and system files and folders), and then try to run that by itself to upgrade your TV Server installation.

    mm1252000, thanks for the suggestion.

Now just to clarify...this is on a client only machine, not my server.

The error is stating that I have the MP Configuration at 1.2.1 and the TV plugin @ 1.2.0.

Should I try what you suggested still?

Ahhhhh, I see - that changes things somewhat. Don't do what I suggested at all as we want to find the cause of the problem not just fix it...

Do you have the upgrade/install logs for the client? They should be included if you use the watchdog with option 3 to produce a zip file of your logs.

Hmmm, I'm not an expert on the installer but it really looks to me like the installer only upgraded the MediaPortal components and forgot the TV plugin. I'm going to need to request help from more knowledgeable members of the team...

Actually, that likely won't work unless some other DLLs (TvLibrary.Interfaces.dll etc.) are also included. We can fix the problem relatively easily, but we want to find out what caused it...
