I've been tagging my music library for a few days. Not nearly done, but it was time to check out what MP makes of it.
I've followed the Guide: "Guide to the music section of mediaportal".
The first thing I wanted to check was a large compilation album (top 1000 all times 2009), I've tagged this album like the guide, in other words the Album Artist is Various Artists. But it didn't show up under Various Artists in MP ArtistAlbum view, it did in the shares view. I also noticed that a lot of the compilation albums do not show under Various Artists or any other name. The music database was ofcourse updated before checking.
First thing I did was check the tags of the large compilation album with the 1000 songs in it (opened it in MPtagthat). All the tags seemed oke, closed MPtagthat and opened MP again. This time the album showed up under Various Artists, but still alot (more than 30%) of the other compilation albums where missing. And after some further searching some of my "normal" albums where also missing. For instance my Beastie Boys albums where all missing. Checked the tags and they where fine.
All of this is done in MP music with the ArtistAlbum view. In Shares all the albums show up.
