[Bug] Not retrieving EPG for some channels (3 Viewers)

Next i will try to help investigate the EPG issue. For that i would really like a clear description and logs. Preferably including a clean channel scan (Make sure that the database tables channel and tuningdetails are really empty, not just the MP GUI saying there is nothing).

Thanks for offering to help investigate. I'm not very familiar with MySQL so if you can tell me how to ensure the database is empty then I'll do a clean scan and post the logs as requested. Would uninstalling TVServer1.3RC and installing 1.3Final clear the database, as it did seem to delete it before when I uninstalled 1.3RC to install 1.3beta to test?

If you run that command :
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\setuptv" /configure-db
You can setup a new db (give a new name of your choice) and it will create a new empty db

So I used a clean database as advised by Sebastii (had to let TV Service restart a few times to let it sort itself out, which explains the couple of errors in error.log), did a channel scan, went to the DVB EPG tab and ticked everything except "Grab EPG only for channels on same transponder", went to TV EPG Grabber tab and ticked only BBC One, went to Manual Control and could see the grabber had started, so left it on there until it finished, then zipped up the attached logs.

As you can see, this time it's put not only the BBC channels (both TV and Radio) except BBC One on Ch.10000 but also Ch4, Ch4+1, Ch5, ITV2, E4, More4 (on previous scans it's been either the BBC channels or this latter group, never both) and these are the channels that it hasn't grabbed any EPG data for.

Could it be that you are suffering from bad reception on one of the tuners? Perhaps that can explain why LCN's are sometimes read / sometimes not. IF the reception is flaky it might be that we are loosing / getting corrupt data.

Your channel scan is showing strange info anyway. IF i recall correctly every frequency has 1 TSID. In your scanlog it shows different TSID for the same frequency. I think that might be the issue. Can you try to fill the TSID of BBC One (which is working) in the TSID of the other channels on the same freq?

Just to say I have never had issues picking up LCNs for Freeview channels previously and there is an LCN in the DVB tables so not sure why we are not picking it up now.

IIRC the generated LCN was just 10000 + x so this was still obvious it was not a real LCN

@jameson_uk Can you determine which exact MP version broke this? That makes it easier to look for changes in TsWriter (which must be the culprit since that has always been the source)

I don't think so as I never have any problem watching/recording channels. If you look at the data from DVBGuide (which didn't have any problem getting the EPG data for all channels) I posted https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...g-for-some-channels.117249/page-3#post-974333 that will probably show that the problem is isolated to MP.[DOUBLEPOST=1363593484][/DOUBLEPOST]

So I just tried changing the TSID for BBC Two from 4173 to 4164 (to match BBC One) and let it grab the EPG again.

It seems to have worked and the log shows that it received the data for BBC Two.
