    MP 1.2.3, W7/64.

When i push sleep on the remote my PC doesn't sleep, although the TV screen goes blank.

I can login with my W7 multiple user hack and run powercfg/requests, which suggests Tvservice.exe is the process under both System and Away mode preventing sleep. When i stop Tvservice service the PC sleeps if i push sleep on the remote.

My Win7 settings are never sleep and i've disabled prevent sleep when shared media etc.

I've removed from Home Group and i'm not .

BTW, when I manually logout the HTPC user from my admin account, the TV screen unblanks and returns to the login screen.

    Cheers, Geoff.

Thats a normal behaviour. It could be that the tvserver has something to do.... epg update, and so on. When you push the power button, the tvserver will go into the so named "away mode". This means the tv will go blank and the Sound is stopped.
Then after been idle Long enough (depends on the time set in the powerscheduler plugin) the tvserver will put the System in standby.

Thanks, I'm still a little confused because it appears as if MP should sleep as long as there is not recording / timeshifting of defined processes preventing sleep.....this is a copy from here....http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/in...-Server_Plugins/PowerScheduler++/How_It_Works

......can even prohibit an explicit standby request by another program or by a user accidentally pressing the system power button. Instead of going to sleep mode the system then enters “Away Mode”, i.e. display and sound are switched off, but the system keeps running. On the other hand, if PowerScheduler++ detects no such activities, it can send the system to standby, if configured so. Otherwise it depends on the system power settings, if and when Windows suspends the system.

    Cheers, Geoff.

Geoff, what I mean is that it can be, p.ex. the epg, or any plugin updating if it is configured to Keep the pc running. Does your pc go to sleep after the idle time?
You could put the logs here to see whats happen. Just clear them, make your tests and post your logs.

yes, my pc does sleep, however what i am getting at is that sometimes i want to use the power button on my MCE remote to put the unit to sleep, however it just seems to put my pc into 'away' mode - the pc will eventually go to sleep, but i like to be able to sleep it myself. I can't see any processes that should prevent this happening.

I will post logs, thanks again.

    Cheers, Geoff.

What you quoted refers to PowerScheduler++, the original Powerscheduler will always go to away mode if something is busy and you want to manually stop the PC.

I have almost the same problem. I use the power switch on the mce remote nothing happens..
When i go with the remote to the shutdown menu en choose for sleep. It goes immediately to sleep.
Why not with my remote? Resume with the power button is no problem. So the remote is not broken...
    Can someone please help me?
