not updating certain series (1 Viewer)

Is there any way to mark series that you are happy with to NOT update? especially when you need the update to take place for new series?

Reason for asking is that I frequently have series that are being updated due to modifications on the website (someone changing the comedy genre to comedie) stuff like that that you would like to prevent
