Okay so I have been having a few issues with one of my HTPCs lately. I'll sumarise everything and post what I think seems to be the lasting issue at the moment. Logs are also included.

Okay so basically I started to have an issue with my HTPC. When I would go to turn it on it wouldn't turn on. I would have to flick the on/off button of the PSU off and then on before it would actually turn on. Very strange.

A few weeks after this started happening, I noticed there were faint red lines appearing horizontally across my screen when I was watching videos. At this point in time there was also some intermittent freezing. This HTPC uses onboard graphics.

Then a few nights ago, whenever I wanted to load MP an error message would come up saying MP unexpectantly crashed. Also there was an error concerning .NET Framework.

Today, I swapped out the MB and PSU to determine what the issue was there. i came to to the conclusions that it seemed as though it was the PSU at fault however, once I finished testing I put the 'faulty' PSU back in and everything was working fine. IE I did not have to flick on and off the button to get the comp to start up. I also haven't noticed the red lines. (though I probably havent watched it for long enough today for them to come up).

However, while it seems the hardware issues seem to be fixed at this stage, MP is still crashing. I am not sure why. It usually crashes on the Loading plugin windows phase. Strange thing is before these hardware issues MP was absolutely fine.

I am running the latest 1.7.0 any help would be appreciated as I'm not sure what's going on here.

    Hello the1

It is impossible to tell from your log files exactly what is going on. However I'd suggest to check your RAM is seated correctly then run memtest x86 on it. Also ensure your cooling for CPU, RAM, GPU and case in general is adequate.

Is there anything in the logs concerning the .NET Framework errors or the crashing of MP?

Yes, definitely... but if these crashes are hardware related then there is no point in investigating them. Without reliable hardware, any software can crash at any time. That was what I was trying to say: you have to get the hardware right before you can expect the software to be stable.

Oh of course, I did not understand what you meant.

Well I think I have the hardware issues sorted. It's been 12 hours and the computer hasnt frozen and PSU has not been playing up. The above logs reflect the last 12 hours.

Another interesting point to note. When I run MP Debug and it does not load any plugins MP loads fine. When I run it normally that's when it crashes. Still strange however, as I have not made any changes whatsoever to any of the plugins.[DOUBLEPOST=1398430663][/DOUBLEPOST]Okay as that seems to suggest a plugin might be at issue I will try to determine which one is causing the problem.

    Update 2 ---

Okay so it seems to be TVSERIES which seems to be causing the issue here. When I open TV Series config there is an error message.

    Update 3 ---

Okay so I have uninstalled TVSeries and MP still crashes. When I try and open the config for Moving Pictures there is also an error message.

This leads me to believe there is some sort of issue with how MP is handling the plugins?

Either delete that file or try to fix it.

    Latest logs attached

Would a complete uninstall and then a fresh installation likely fix these issues?

As above: simply delete or recover the Moving Pictures database. No need to do a fresh install.
