(Off topic?) I-loop, how do you achieve 1080p @ 50 Hz (PAL) w/ATi (somewhat relevant to thread)
You're right ... the only thing that is future-safe these days is that: the hw I buy today will be out-dated tomorrowthe problem is that nothing is realy future-safe these days![]()
Very good to hear that ... feedback in form of user experience is the best recommendationi have to say that i am quite happy with my system (core2duo6600 + ATI HD2600 + coreavc 1.6.5.0).
playing 1080p videos is no issue at all![]()
Maybe that is the best way to go ... powerful CPU, good GPU and software decoders. I that case I will be flexible to choose the decoder I like most and not locked to a specific hw/decoder combination. Since most of the decoder software (like CoreAVC™ Professional Edition) have SMP support I think I will go for a Intel® Core™2 Quad - they are quite affordablequite some team members report image and gui corruption with some combinations of nvidia gpu / driver versions.
i am using only ATI cards here and do not have any issues. but i am also not using HW-accel.![]()
okay, my post was realy missleading.(Off topic?) I-loop, how do you achieve 1080p @ 50 Hz (PAL) w/ATi (somewhat relevant to thread)
I'm using a nvidia 8600GTS in combination with cyberlink powerdvd7. For me it works perfect. Great picture quality on MPEG2 and H.264 and both HW accelerated with EVR (on Vista ultimate 32bit)
Can't say anything about ATI, never tried it except for my first low budged ATI card where I had lots of trouble and bad image quality(well it was low-budget). This was 3 years ago and shouldn't be compared to the new high-end ATI cards offcourse!
Have you tried CoreAVC decoder without HW accelerate in your system ...
