Since a couple of weeks I use MediaPortal. A good choice compared to VMC. Everything runs fine and smooth, including TV. One odd issue puzzles me a bit though:
I have Vista set up to suspend after 120 minutes. If MediaPortal is running, Vista does try to suspend after the 120 min. Apparently MP is giving Vista a signal not to do it, so Vista continues. When this happens when watching a movie, the movie halts for a few seconds and then continues.
When the movie ends, and more then 120 minutes have passed, Vista immediately suspends. As if Vista was waiting for the movie to end.
This behaviour strikes me as kind of odd. It is as if Vista doesn't register a program is running, so there is no need to suspend.
As soon as Vista wants to suspend, MP seems to send a signal it shouldn't. So the suspend action is stopped halfway and MP (and the movie) continue. It did interfere though.
As soon as the movie is stopped, Vista immediately suspends. Nothing the user can do to prevent it.
Is this by design?
