hi, I decided to start a new thread for this, because I think a couple of people have some issues with the german database, ofdb.de

I have the .nfo for most of my movies, so it works like a charm for me
but without that .nfo it's really difficult to find a matching movie on ofdb
    here is an example:

    Kill.Bill.Vol.1.German.2003.DVDRIP.AC3.XviD-XC
Kill Bill Vol 1 -> no results (only for Kill Bill Vol. 1 or Kill Bill)

    Wrong.Turn.2.Dead.End.UNCUT.German.2007.DVDRiP.XviD-ETM
Wrong Turn 2 Dead End -> no results (only for Wrong Turn 2: Dead End or just Wrong Turn 2)
so the additional name does often make problems!

year of release also often makes trouble:
    e.g.: Stirb.Langsam.2.SE.1990.German.AC3.DVDRiP.iNTERNAL.XviD-SAMFD

    another significant point:
ofdb-name: Bourne Verschwörung, Die / Bourne Supremacy, The (2004)

    Die.Bourne.Verschwoerung.German.2004.AC3.DVDRiP.XviD.iNTERNAL-RESERVOiR
Die Bourne Verschwoerung -> no results, because of "oe" instead of "ö"
there's also a problem with the article "Die" in the beginning instead of in the end with a comma (so you always have to delete the article)

so now I hope that many other users will explain their issues and maybe the team will find a solution

here is my enlarged expression filter (for scene releases):
    ((ts\sld|\sdl\s|\sgerman\s|\sinternal\s|dvd5|DVDRip\sLD|R5\sld|R5\sline\sdubbed|R5\smd|Line\sDubbed|\sSE\s|dvd9|uncut|telesync|AC3\sDUBBED|AC3D|Directors\sCut|Extended\sCut|Extended\sVersion|telecine|ts\smd|tc\sld|Screener|720p|1080p|1080i|DirCut|DVDRip|DVDScreener|DVDScr|AVCHD|WMV|NTSC|MPEG|DSR|DVDR|DTS|AC3|Bluray|Blu-ray|HDTV|PDTV|HDDVD|XviD|DiVX|x264|dxva)[-]?.*?$)

To be clear the problem is the list of possible matches that come up, correct? You are saying that in many cases the correct movie is not listed?

yes, to be exact there's always absolutely no matching in my case
I tested around 60 movies without nfo and with the new expression filter there will be ~20 movies without any matching - with the standard filter about 40+

hm I tried to exclude ".DL." (duallanguage in the dir name) with the expression filter, but I think the scanner excludes too much now - maybe there's a better solution for such shot forms in the dir name

Your expression will mutilate alot of filenames :p

a dot in the expression means "ANY CHARACTER"... replace the dots with \s and see what you get then... (only for the piped ones btw). Overall be very carefull when you change that setting and if you experience importer problems after changing that value pls report that you don't use the default expression :)

    Hi,

I have also two tiny problems with ofdb.
The Runtime is always set to 0 and the scores are not displayed right, so I have to get all informations from imdb and afterwards from ofdb to get also these informations, is it possible to get the right score and runtime directly by using ofdb?

ofdb scanner has problems with movie names which include a colon. Good example is th elord of the rings trilogy. These movies have names in the form 'Herr der Ringe: Die Gefährten'. If I use the web frontend of ofdb.de I HAVE TO enter the colon. Entering 'herr der ringe die gefährten' or similar doesn't get any result.

ofdb doesn't have runtime and rating for many movies.

But as ofdb also offers the imdb number I think it would be best to combine both so the normal movie info comes from ofdb and everything missing comes from imdb.

    Is this possible?

It's something we could maybe implement in the future Slurm, but it would require some changes to the core data provider system. It's something I will have to think about though. it's a significant change, and the importer system is fairly stable right now i think.

Thanks. It not that important to me, but it was also in the past with mymovies guite annoying not to have all the information that could be there (especially the runtime, which could also be acquired by the mediainfo).
