Hello Chreekar,

i got a big Problem using your Plugin an a MP 0.2.1.
The Problem is that if i enter the My Emulators Menu notjhing is shown.
No Buttons nothing. Only the My Programms-Thunb in the Left under Corner.
I allready tried older Versions like the 1.5 and the 1.5.1 one but still nothing is shown.

I added an N64 emu und an SNES emu with the correct Paths and so on and for each Emu one game in the Database...

so what can i do?

I hope ya will write back ASAP.

Hi Chreekar,

firstly - great plugin. Works very well.

However. I'm trying to get Scummvm working with it...

Given that MyEmulators feeds the entire command line to the application program, and given that scummvm only requires the name of the game, I wrote a little batch program that extracts the name from the supplied path. It works by means of a folder full of dummy files each named after a game in the scummvm list. MyEmulators populates its database with the paths to these dummy files, passes the path to my batch file, which in turn extracts the dummy filename and passes it to scummvm.

So I anticipate that MyEmulators would issue a command like this:

Run_scummvm.bat "C:\Games\Scummvm_roms\tentacle"

After which my batch extracts 'tentacle' and issues the command:

scummvm.exe tentacle

Sounds good in theory right? At least to me. So why doesnt it work? Could you possibly help out with information about what command MyEmulators issues?

You seem to have everything figured out right. My Emulators is using the ThreadStart method in C# that takes two arguments: the execuatable file and the argument string. To see exactly what is executed, you can look in the MP log after using the plugin. You can CTRL+F for the string myEmulators to find it.

Tx for the tips: so I checked the log - it seems that MyEmulators doesnt even run the command at all. It lists the contents of the rom folder - then does nothing when I select a game.

Here's a snip from my log:

My Emulators - Loading emulator: Super Nintendo
2007-08-20 23:15:11.484375 [Info.][MPMain]: My Emulators - Loading emulator: Scummvm
2007-08-20 23:15:12.468750 [Info.][MPMain]: My Emulators - Listing files in dir: H:\games\Scummvm_roms\
Should be and execution string here...
2007-08-20 23:15:17.906250 [Info.][MPMain]: Windowmanager:goto previous window
2007-08-20 23:15:17.968750 [Info.][MPMain]: window:myEmulators.Class1 deinit
2007-08-20 23:15:17.984375 [Info.][MPMain]: texturemanager:CleanupThumbs()

not sure why...possibly it doesnt like batch files...?

Strange... But do you need batch files at all? Can't you just have files with no extension named as the game and use that as a switch for the emulator?

The Problem is that if i enter the My Emulators Menu notjhing is shown.

I take it you are using the latest version of MP. Does anything happen if you press a button (other than Esc)?

could try that - but is it possible to supply the name as a switch dynamically? In other words, can I put ScummVm as an emulator and add game names to the database as switches?

At the moment I've got it working in MyPrograms as a file-launcher, but would like to see if I can get it working in MyEmulators too...

Sorry, you can't do that

EDIT: Well, maybe you could name the games as "-game1" and that could fool the program into what you want to do

Just wanted to say thank you for this Plugin!
I just found it and have been playing and remembering all those great games from long ago all day.
This is so cool!

Hi there,

I am just in process of setting up our PVR/HTPC and getting those emulators there would be great.
So I started with zsneswin (ver 1.51) and it seems to be working when Mediaportal (0.2.3RC1 with svn 08-27-2007) is running in not full screen mode and when zsnewin is not configured to run in full screen mode.

When both of them are set to run in full screen, I get following exception when some snes-game is selected:
IDirectDraw7::confused:etCooperativeLevel failed

Do you have hints on getting past this problem??

I do not know from where that smiley got there

So the error message from zsneswin was:
"IDirectDraw7::confused:etCoopretiveLevel failed"

(again SetCoopretiveLevel failed)
