Thanks for this awesome plugin, everything works great.

I am wondering what people are using to play these games? I have been using my keyboard but am wondering if theres a good universal usb or wireless controller that will control all the emulators? thx again!

Chreekar, good stuff! Thanks! I spent some time getting other solutions to work, but will definitely check "my emulators" again as soon as possible

Rolls, I use an xbox 360 controller, with XPadder controlling it, with one profile per app. That's what I needed the batch files for in the first place. I've set it up so if I, say, run an emulator, it'll fire off a bat file that changes the xpadder profile, runs the emulator, then resets the controller profile, and so on. Works a treat

thx for the reply, I have a ps2 with two controllers so I am leaning that way, i found this and it looks like it should work. Ayone using a ps2 remote?

Also will I have to setup this remote with every emulator separately?
thx andrew

i'm using ps2 remotes, i've got a similar adaptor to the one you linked too, and mine has worked fine for 2 years now, they're all fairly common and i'm sure they're all the same with different covers.

Two Requests

I love this plugin, but for now it only works with my NES ROMs because only my NES Emulator supports 7Zip and all of my roms are 7Zipped. There is an SDK for 7Zip at SourceForge, seems like it would be a nice feature to automagically uncompress the ROM before playing, then delete the files when returning to the MyEmulators GUI. This way it would support all emulators while also supporting the Good Sets that are 7Zipped.

Second, I'm also a fan of the video previews that are offered in some emulation packages. Would it be possible to include video thumbnails for games? And, to drive the point home, support them when each of the previews are 7Zipped?

Penultimately, it would be fantastic if we could specify where there video previews are located. I've got all of my ROMs, Video/PNG thumbnails, Manuals and Box Art in a very well organized Emulation folder on a share drive so that all PCs on the network can reach them, but MyEmulator's insistance on having the Thumbs folder be the location for the thumbnails kinda negates that.

Lastly, how open to co-operation are you? If I took the code and played around, how open would you be to growing development?

An SDK you say? Sounds interesting, could you post the URL? I have looked into the idea of having to choose where to keep the thumbs. I didn't want to have an option specifically for My Emulators, but rather use the paths set in the MediaPortalDirs.xml file, but I haven't figured out how to read this property without reading from the xml file directly. I have thought of supporting video thumbnails, and think it is a very good idea. I would love some contribution! As long as we communicate and agree on what to do, you are welcome to use the SVN :)

The LZMA (7Zip) SDK can be snatched from SourceForge at: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=14481

I had a look at the code and, honestly, my familiarity with coding in C# is now what I'd like it to be yet. I've been coding in PHP for years, so the syntax is pretty familiar, but I've only coded a few small utilities with C# so far, so stepping into coding for MP is exactly what I need to kick me into a learning mode. (I often can't pick up a new language until I need to, so this is a good incentive.) That said, the code for the LZMA is just beyond me - if necessary it'd be easy enough to compile a command-line version of the program that executes silently just before launching a ROM. I'm a fan of keeping ROMs compressed, or at least in some sort of a ReadOnly mode when playing them - better emulation if you ask me.

Am I able to make commits back to the SVN or do I need specific access before that?
