(Old) My Emulators (3 Viewers)

1. Is it possible to make DOSBox appear like NES games, or can i just execute it, and then run the games from the DOSBox terminal?
2. Can i create a folder for my Windows games, and make it appear as a Emulator, and from that folder execute the games?

1. ya i just did it the same way you would for any other emulator. i set the path to dosbox.exe in the path to emulator, then set my folder with my dosbox games in it and set the filter for showing files to *.EXE (its kinda lame that there are some extra exe's in that folder though, like setups or stuff like that but at least it works). you might need to add *.bat or *.com if your games arent showing up. like you could set the filter to *.exe;*.bat;*.com

2. check the PC section for Multiple Games in this post: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-emulators-247/emulator-configurations-44459/ (& fyi a batch file is just a text file with the .txt extension renamed to .bat)

Thanks for that reply. I just messed around with DOSBox, but it seems like MyEmulators runs it's own .conf instead of the dosbox.conf found in the DOSBox-0.72 folder, and that's fustrating. I'm not able to get fullscreen-mode, nor can i mont the specific posistion for my dos games (which i would prefer to keep away from my .bat files.

This is how i'm currently trying to get it

D:\Games\Emulators\DOSBox-0.72\Roms\-= This is where i want my bat files =-
D:\Games\Emulators\DOSBox-0.72\Games\-= This is the folder i want to mount =-

So in the dosbox.conf to look like this:

fullscreen=true
bla
bla
blah

[autoexec]
@echo off (this conceals the commands preformed)
keyb no (this is for supporting my Norwegian keyboard)
mount c D:\Games\Emulators\DOSBox-0.72\Games
c:

and then a "rom" named PSYCHO.BAT looks like this

cd psycho
psycho
exit

any idea how i can change or where i can find that other .conf file MyEmulators is using?

New version, new SVN

I finally feel that the work towards the new version is nearing completion, and because of that I have uploaded the source and build to the SVN server, that now is a new one. Since I wasn't the administrator of the old one, it got really tiresome when I wanted to change permissons etc. so this is the new address:

The features of the new version follow, as taken from the Readme:

- Code completely rewritten
- New Configuration interface
- New skin for Blue3 (only 4:3 so far)
- Improved translation system, now uses xml
- Autoconfiguration of filter string
- Working folder for emulator can be set
- Games can now be in subfolders
- More fields in the game database, among
others one to hide the game
- Ctrl + F opens a search field in the
database tab in the configuration
- Database optimization, so it should be
a lot faster and easier to work with now

So, tell me what you think! I need your help to find bugs and things I've forgotten. Gamingexpert, please have a look around and update the FAQ if there is anything you feel needs to be added before I distribute it as an MPI through the website. Currently there is no support for PC Games, as that is the last feature I will add before release. Have fun!

hulkhaugen: My Emulators does not use a special .conf file, but I think it doesn't read the correct one since the emulator is executed with another working directory (the one of Mediaportal instead of the emulator). In the new version of the plugin you can set this, and that should solve your problems.

3 bugs

1 MAJOR: if a game name/rom name are with ' sign - a database was terminated
2 minor: i was change name from my emulators to moje emulatory (in config) but in mp it doesnt affect.
3 minor: CTRL+F doesnt work for me. im pressing left ctrl and F (simultaneously) and nothing happens

still when im quitting from any game a my emulators throwing me back to the root (i think better will be if after quit emulator (alt+f4 or ctrl+x) i can choose next/other game from list).

Actually skin are for blue3 but still view are like in old one (i mean almost alf part of screen are in view options so longer gamenames are not visible) there are no possibility to hide this options on the left side like in my music or my photos? and expand list (from left to right border of screen) or icons to whole screen. It's just my wish but i think all good things from blue3 are not used in current skin

sorry i was missunderstand search option. works great IN CONFIG (i hope same thing could be used in MP My Emulators) for searching games.

Yeah I looked at it and it's the behaviour of Mediaportal and not my plugin. I noticed that if you play a game in windowed mode it doesn't do this, but if you go fullscreen then Mediaportal resets the plugin. No idea why and how to solve it.

I agree, and I tried to do something similar as My Videos, but I don't know how. Are there any skinners out there that know how to show the sidebar when pressing left just as My Videos?

i get myEmulators.rar about 14:23 polish time (+1 Time Zone) this file was different leght from morning (about 8am polish time) file so i think ... all fixes are included. I was wrong or there are no changes.

- Change the link of the plugin in the first page of the post .
- When I click on the button "More views..." the window isn't translated.
- I can't see the thumbs of the games, but I check it later.

I forgot to tell you, you need to delete the database file since I encode the ' sign, but it's still "raw" in your DB file. Delete the file, and when it is rebuilt it should work.

It should be... These strings in the xml file translate that window:

i just delete:
myemulators3.db3 file whole emulator settings are removed, database too. And games with ' are ok for myemu's

another sugestion: emulator settings (like executabla paths, rom paths etc etc should be universal for future versions of myemulators and there should be possibility to save this file separatelly in txt or xml file (i.e. for reinstall mp) because at now wen i just delete database file i must again spend 10-15 minutes for add all my emulators

translation for "more views" is ok (look in my polish translation)
