that was it, thank you. i put some information in those fields and it appeared. Another quick question(s) are those fields in the configuration only able to be updated manually? Also, where do you get your cover art for your ROMS?

VERY helpful batch processing. But only gives you info for games supported by MAME (Should work for Raine, Final Burn Alpha and all other arcade emus with same/similar roms as MAME).

My cover art is custom made by myself from flyers I've gotten from The Arcade Flyer Archive - News and/or ingame screenshots.

I did upload my posters for the games I play to Rapidshare. Will check if the link is still available.

renaissance of the good old snes

Hi, I want to awake good old snes time on mediaportal. I hope you can help me to find a way. The solution should deal with snes games and two controls ( or more ??? ). My questions:

a ) what's the right emulator to handle with it
b ) what's the right gamepad? It should be wireless with more than snes keys ( maybe i want to extend mp by nice arcade games like virtual fighter for pc )

What can you recommend?

I know 2.5 isn't released yet, but just wanted to give a heads-up that my log files shows an error that might need addressing (could already be a known bug of course!):

This was just running StreamedMP skin and I hadn't entered My Emulators at all. Previously I'd populated MyEmulators with all of the current release MAME roms, ran and rated 2 of them, and left the rest all defaults. Happy to provide any further info if needed.

Well, i use the Zsnes, and it works good for me. Think the Snes9x is good also. Checke this out.

You can use most of the gamepads available. Logitech has some PlayStation look-a-like pads at a decent price, and they work very well as SNES pads, and i also use them for NES. Works excellent. Wonder how they will manage Sega MegaDrive/Genesis?

I'm considering buying a couple of XBOX Elite controllers myself to play these games. Will look great with the Home Theater.

I just got a lot of computer parts to beef up my HTPC, and I downloaded the new MyEmulators, and I am having a huge problem with ePSXe. I enter in what type of filters for the "roms" and I get an error every time I try to save. I cant figure it out. Is this a bug? or do you guys know what to do? I have looked on the forum and cant seem to find anything about it. I downloaded the newest version also, so I dont know why it is acting like this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I figured it out. The folder where I had the playstation iso's in was titled "Playstation ISO's" and the ' was what myemulators was freaking out about.

I'm considering buying a couple of XBOX Elite controllers myself to play these games. Will look great with the Home Theater.

In case anybody doesn't know this, you can use wireless XBOX 360 controllers on a computer with the wireless reciever microsoft makes, or you can directly plug them in with the play & charge kit, or just plug in the wired 360 controllers and they'll work.

Is it plug-n-play with the PS3 controller, or do i have to fiddle with the bluetooth settings?

I'm not sure, but I want to buy the bluetooth PS3 remote to use with mediaportal so if anybody else has any info it would be nice to hear, otherwise I might just buy one and try it out and return it if it doesn't work.

Btw, what I'm using right now is a PS2 controller hooked up with a Trio Linker Plus. You can pretty much hook up any controller to a computer as long as you get the right convertor.

Edit: I don't think the PS3 controller is plug-n-play but you can check this thread for a driver and steps to get it to work (and if you don't want to register to download the file you can get it here). Also, it seems that it only works through usb, not bluetooth (I only read the first few pages of that thread though).

You can also use a Wii controller connected through bluetooth and use GlovePIE to program it.

This interface working with dance pad's, guitar hero instruments, beatmania 5/7 key keyboard so i think better solution isnt required


let's back to MyEmulators

import/export working strange for me... it just export only one position (but in database i have much more prepared games with desc and grade

import export should work for year and company too (i think this should be primary cells) because grade could be different for different users but year, company, game type are something still.

So it just exports the first game and skips the rest? It should export every game that has at least one non-empty field. The fields that are exported are the grade, year, description, genre and company. The reason for having the grade is that in the future it would be nice to sync that to a general metacritic score.
