    Hi guys,

I am trying to upscale (from stereo to 5.1) programs played with iPlayer (via Online videos).

It doesn't matter what I try, they are played using the Monogram AAC codec (when I need them to use ffdshow audio).

    Can anyone please help me?

    Thanks,

    J. :D

    Hi there,

I managed to fix it - actually fixed it in several ways :D

I installed AC3Filter and set that as the post processor - this worked ok (after a lot of tweaking!)

But it was all getting to complicated....

So I acquired a different AV surround system - I've set this to Dolby Prologic II by default (so this does the upscaling for me). I have configured ffdshow to passthru DTS, Prologic, etc. Its configured to encode (AC3) any 5.1 streams that aren't passed thru.

This way, original DTS streams aren't touched and natively handled by the amp. Stereo is not upscaled by ffdshow but the amp (dolby prologic II), and other 5.1 streams are reencoded by ffdshow to AC3 and passed to the amp as Dolby Digital 5.1.

All becuase spdif can't handle multi channel (5.1 and above) AAC audio!
