Yes, we could use 'Label3' to achieve that, but it would require some changes in the skin files.

What happens if Label3 is used in the plugin with the old skin files? Will it work the old way (showing the video title and duration only), or will it not work at all? If the plugin stops working because the skin is not changed, it makes sense to abandon the idea.

Of course the plugin will still work even with old skin files. The skin will simply show Label2 only, that is. It's up to the skinner to implement the new Label3 feature.
There is no problem to implemen the feature into OV right now.

I have no idea what you mean! How can I provide a working IP and what is a "fiddler dump"?
